coming with personal experience, the 212/218 is perfect for what you want it,, and no you dont need a converter or gears, unless you are wanting full out performance... i had that cam on my old z71 and it made a huge difference from idel all the way up... go with it...

So this cam if I were to run it would be fine w/. the LS6 springs. IIRC, they're rated like .550 or is it .575?
Now, if I can just member who said they'd hook me up?

I'm with the other guy's on this one; I really think you would like the Comp212/218 low lift on an 112lsa. The LS6 springs will work great with this cam and should prove to very reliable. I also don't believe 4.56' would be too much for your 33" tires, but I do understand worrying about economy somewhat and think 4.30's would make an excellent compromise.

like i said, this ain't old school. brakes will be fine with that lobe separation.
That's cool, don't take it personal, man. Seemed like maybe you were hooked on the intake signal for whatever reason. No worries, man.

And for the record for anyone else reading, not that I've seen a vacuum issue with that cam on a 112, it can/will happen if you go big enough with your bumpstick.

212/218 low lift as mentioned!!

My truck is a 4x4 and the cam is perfect. I work on a farm so I tow often and it works great with the stock converter.

Yellow springs are perfect for this cam, that's what I have and I think I paid around $40 shipped for them
