Default 2006 SSS cam and converter suggestions???

Ok i have a 2006 ss silverado current mods are just a mial in bb tune and air aid jr kit with stainless steel magnaflow cat back. I want a good performing cam with a nice sound, and a decent converter, truck doesnt get driven a whole lot but im going to be buying a rzr soon and dont want to lose my towing. I will also be doing long tubes, and getting an autocal. Cant wait to get some more power so help me out guys.

Get a cam with a intake duration in the teens all the way up to 220 or 222, and exhaust side duration up to 226 or so and get it with a 112lsa with some advance ground into the cam imo. Also get a 3000-3200rpm converter, a 278mm would work or you could drop down to a 10" converter or so in a 3000rpm range. Also get a big tranny cooler.

If you want a custom cam, have someone spec you out one.

Something like a 218/22X would be fine and you would still be able to tow a RZR without issues. Rzr's are pretty lite in weight. If you get something on the small size, you will end up wishing you went just a little bigger. Just don't go too big in your case.

If you weren't worried about towing so much and wanting a good running SS, I would probably get something like a 222/228 or 224/228, get some head work done or new heads to bump the compression up, new intake manifold, built trans, 3600rpm torque converter, etc..

Bigger cam is going to raise the powerband up in the RPM range and sacrifice some low end torque which. Definitely invest in a bigger trans cooler whichever cam/converter combo you go with.

i think that cam with a circle d 278mm 2600-2800 would be great for towing and still be very quick and see big results

you could run these valvesprings, very cheap, but still gm quality http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=C159

you don't need pushrods unless you want to shift past 6200, which i don't think you would have to with that cam.
