Default 2006 5.3 to 6.0 swap questions

I have recently decided to swap my 5.3 to a 6.0 on my 2006 silverado. I have found a 6.0 from a 2006 truck for a decent price. I have heard there are some differences in the cranks but not sure when that changes. Just wondering if this will fit with no modifications or what needs to be swapped out with it? Thanks in advance for your help

The crank was a little longer on the 1999-2001 (maybe) 6.0s, after those years it used the same crank as the 5.3 so the 2006 6.0 should bolt up no problem.

Not completely sure of goals for horsepower yet but I would like to get decent power gain. Looking to replace my gears with 373s since the differential needs some work and so does the transmission I was told a 4L80 would be best for power. Also would a tune be necessary?

yeah a 4l80 would handle anything you could put in front of it with a good stall that will compliment whatever cam you put in the 6.0, depending on your tire size I'd go with a bit lower gear, 3.90 or 4.10

yes you'll need a tune to for it to run right.

Eventually I wanna put some 20s or 22s on it but for now stock wheels and tire size. How bad will it be if at all since the computer has already been tuned with the 5.3 ?

you might get it to run with the 5.3 tune but I wouldn't run it for long. it would probably run like crap.
