I think it was Truck Trend that compared identical 2500Hd's, one with the 8.1 BB and the other with the LB7 Dmax(300hp and 520 ft lbs) not the newer LLY w/ 605 ft lbs. If I remember right the 8.1 nipped the dmax by like 1-2 tenths in 0-60 and the 1/4. So factor in the lower powered 6.0 gas and I wouldn't be supprised the Dmax is quicker especially if its the newer LLY.

My cousin has a LLY company truck (reg-cab 3500 SRW 4x4) and we have raced several times. I haven't lost to him yet, but the races have been really close. Most times he is hanging at my tailgate or has his front fender at my back door. The only mod my truck has is a UPD intake. I think if he would build boost off the line and launch in 4Hi he could probably take me down, but he doesn't want to **** off his boss if he tears something up. I've driven the truck and it didn't impress me at all. It definetly needs a programmer to wake it up.

2500hd's in a standard cab only come in longbeds. if you want a shortbed then you will have to get a extended cab. and no it wouldn't be a 12sec truck. those things are heavy!

we made 800 rwtq (figure close to 1000 tq at the motor) with just one mod. edge juice box w/ attitude. absolutely LOVE IT. if you are towing, there is NO comparison. but stock versus stock it will be close. but what is a stock diesel???
