I think GM had the right idea going in the late 80s and early 90s with the bad *** cars like the GNX that ran 13.5 stock with a turbo v6! And the twin turbo trucks. Then in what 92, they lost sight of whats important about performance. Why not at least throw in a supercharged GTP v6.

Gm in the past has built some serious cars and trucks with turbos.I don't think they are going backwards now. It will probably have some serious performance pontential. ie ;forged internals and variable valve timing
