2001 DBW 90mm
#1
I have a 2001 truck with traction control and DBW throttle. A couple months ago I tried to install an ls2 throttle with a conversion harness. It did not work. The actuator motor would work correctly for a few seconds but the TPS was not happy and would send the truck into REP.
I cut all 6 of the tps sensor wires and played with every possible configuration on a breadboard. Only one configuration got the throttle to operate without REP, but when my foot was on the floor the throttle would close and letting off the throttle pedal would cause the blade to open. I tried reversing the actuator motor wires when I had this senario but it did not work.
Has anyone swapped an ls2 throttle onto one of these older DBW truck before? If I swap TAC modules can I use the tps sensor with only 4 wires instead of my six?
My stock throttle looks like this

I'm not sure, but I believe Speartech had an adapter harness to do what your looking for. Also the TAC module for a '01 should be the correct one to use as everyone say's to use an '02 and I believe they are the same, due to the '02's having the same style throttle body as you have.

I know there are 02 trucks running LS2 TBs and they use the same TAC module and stock TB as 01. All of the DBW truck TAC modules use 6 wires to the sensor.

Thank you for the replies. I'll check to see if the Speartech harness is pinned differently than the one I started with.
DrX,
I am glad to see you haven't given up on me. I worked on the wiring options all day trying to get the truck running a few months back. This is my daily driver so I had put the stock throttle back on for now to get back on the road. I will give it another shot sometime soon and document my results. Is it possible that I need to add an additional reference to feed back to the TAC module?
