Talking 2000 5.3L Looking for mod Tips

I have had fun for awhile with my truck but now it's time to get it where I want it to be. I have a 2000 5.3L ext. cab sport side. I have a K&N Forced Intake, JBA Headers, Duals, Power Programmer, Eaton LSD and 4.10 Gears. I got 20's on it. I got a Transgo and vette servo waiting to be installed. What is a good TQ converter to install to. I want to do some more engine mods like cam and heads work. What other items should i change at the same time. I want it to be a decend DD. Lookin for a low 13's to high 12's range. If I need N20 also will consider it and what recommendations.

Look in a Yank or Fuddle for the converter.Cam and heads will do wonders for your truck. On those JBA headers...or those Longtubes?I don't think they are but just in case I'm wrong. If not then i would say get some Longtubes headers they will wake it up a decent amount. The shorties do almost nothing for our motors.
I'd put at least a 100shot on the truck. It can handle it no problem and just makes 12's that much easier.

You'll get a better feel if you get a converter (several good ones out there, PI, TCI, FUDDLE, YANK) along with the cam and LT's and you'll need a custom tune. From what I've seen chances are you'll need some juice to get into the 12's.

get a mail order tune or if you get a cam you will need a custom tune ...dont know what dual mufflers you have but magnaflow is about the best... longtube headers will help a good bit too...heads and cam package will help alot... i think you can go up to a 150 shot of nos on stock bottom end

What cam should i be looking at and what do i have to do to the engine to run N20 safely. With the heads just a port and polish? Any other mods to help performance that i am not thinking of? besides SC or Turbo

I would say cam all depends on what your looking for.Just a very mild Daily Driver cam would be like a 212/218 high rise cam. Those are good for 45 plus to the wheels everytime.
On the heads all you really Need to do is springs, retainers, push rods.
You can run a 100wet shot of N2o without doin anything really.it will be just fine.Over that and you might need the small things along with the cam.150 and you will need bigger injectors...

What bout some LS1 fans? That will help just a touch.. but its cheap, and very effective.. I love mine.. And you get a lil better MPG..

45 to the wheels with that cam? I don't think even a 228/230 cam could add that much power, maybe I'm wrong.

You are wrong.Amember posted his results on that cam just a few weeks ago.He gained a peak of 47hp.
I have seen this cam installed on a few other trucks and they never pulled less than 43 to the wheels.
