I filled my boat for the first time this year. Add $131.25 to my gas total for this week.

Special refining requirements (which gives us that top notch 91 octane), stricter emmisions standards and BIG taxes.

So, in short, hippies and the state govt.

$2/gal isn't that bad. Here we are taxed like 40˘ a gal. Realize what the rest of the world pays for fuel. I won't complain until we're around $4-4.50/gal.

Would I like lower prices? Hell ya, but we have no control over it. OPEC is to blame like I stated earlier. They think they are funny and cut production. If only we weren't so dependant on foreign oil.

Ah well, glad I got the econobox for now.

Well, I assume you enjoy driving your vehicle and having paved roads, hazard signs, stop lights and various things like proper drainage to coinside, so that tax is a mute point....Of course, the politicians have their hands in that fund as well, so even that tax is misused. Nothing is free.

Anyway, I think a permenant 50cent rise in gas prices would do this country good and get something happening on alternative means of power. After Bush gets the boot this year, he can take up residency in Saudi.

180 Proof or 90% alcohol = 106 octane

Based on inflation, even at $2 - 3 per gallon, it's cheaper now than it was when we were paying over a buck a gallon in the early - mid 80s. Not that
it makes it easier to fork over more cash though!

The fire team is armed better now except no MK-19 auto grenade launcher!
Lookout OPEC!
