1500hd 427 4x4 cam choice
#1
I'm running a 1500hd with a 4l80e and a 2400 stall with 4.10s and 35s, I'm running a 427 4.125 bore x 4.00 stroke with some afr 245s and 10:3:1 compression I'm caught between the btr stage 4 truck cam or the high lift ASA cam 226/236 on a 110 what are your opinions? It's my daily driver rod but I'm going to use it to tow or 4x4 once in a while,

what's BTR, ASA, TexasSpeed, CamMotion, or any of the like suggest?
my 1st thought would be to ask what cam people suggest, and then run their suggestions by us internet golems for our experiences using said suggestions.

I would at least target getting as close to 0.600" lift as possible with the AFR 245s to take advantage of their flow capabilities. Your duration ranges are well within what a properly designed lobe (with correct mating springs) should be capable of achieving without overly aggressive ramps for a daily.

and sometimes they'll even surprise you with their recommendations... like Brian Tooley personlly recommended one of his off-the-shelf cams for my relatively one-off setup, and it actually performs great! the kicker is that it was designed for bigger & newer engines, but the specs ended up working out pretty well for mine, even though i'm the only one i know of using that 6.2 cam in an LS1.
