Default whats your opinion on this MTI cam for my truck?

I was interested in trying a MTI cam with these specs:
221/221 .558 lift 112 LS in my stock 5.3L truck. I'm going to do the springs, retainers, rockers, and computer programming also, but im not very familiar with the 5.3 engines yet. do you think this cam is too big, or about right? I wont be towing too much weight, and i just plan on sticking with bold on mods. has anyone used this cam before, or one like it? thanks for any info

Chad

What does MTI say? I bet they say it would be ok for a sbrc 2x4 w/converter,sounds like you have a lifted excab 4x4 with oversize tires.Well you might be able to pick up 3tenths on the top end but loose 5tenths on the bottom end with a cam like that in a heavy truck(might)(just an example). What are yout mods?Instead of throwing mod parts at it find a take-out 6.0 stuff in a cam just a hair more mild and a tune.Save yourself from all the nickle and dime ****.

You will need a converter with that cam. You will also need tunning to make it right.

Does anyone make a 4x4 cam for the new LS1's? i think Comp Cams make a 4x4 line of cams, but all are for the older engines. I want a cam so bad i can taste it. Just cant find one that fits my needs.

imnot really worried about top end speed, i just want a little more HP and to sound nice, it definately wont be raced. About the only mods i plan on doing ot it are headers and full exhaust, gears, a 2600 or so convertor, and thats about it besides the computer programming. thanks for the replies

go look at those 4X4 cams that comp offers, and pick out one that looks like it will make good low end power, and then copy that cam in an LS1 grind. comp will grind anything you want them to so you can just copy a different cam into ls1
