Default 100 mph shutoff

is there a way to trick the computer without a tune or a hand held?

unhooking the speed sensor might do it ... but I wouldn't advise that, since the computer relies on it for shift points and converter lockup.

I tried unhooking the speed sensor on an old S-10 5-speed i had. The speedometer didnt work of course, but the speed limiter still cut it off at 98mph. I never could find how it knew how fast i was going.

I hear ya... I'm saving my pennies for a dyno tune butt I was trying to see if I could get around the shutoff in the mean time
