So why not go with ram air application?
It is a K&N style filter that is oiled, but not excessively. I completely understand the oil in the MAF issue, and have never had a problem with oiled filters to date. Just don't soak them and they will be fine.

The air comes in from the fender the same as the stock box. The only viable way I could see to get more fresh air would be to grab it from the grille. That would have required a 180 degree turn, and I figured the added turbulance would outweigh any power gains. I was not looking for huge gains, just some better flow.
