Damn, 16.9? I wonder if the DA was horrible and the G-Tech was doing one it's quirks. My truck stock was 16.2@86mph. I figured the 04's have a bit more power so should be faster is weight is the same.

Just call up Allan at NelsonPerformance. He can get you set up with a custom tune.

I prefer the Magnaflows over the Flowmasters. Less interior noise, better power depending on which Flowmaster you get.

Try www.streetandperformanceelectronics.com. They sell the Proflash programmer, but they are based in N. Little Rock. You might be able to get them to do you a custom tune.I have an 04 GMC Z71 with a 5.3,and I have their programmer, and Ilike it, but bear in mind, they are somewhat limited in their tunes.(meaning conservative) So far, I've been able to coax a 15.80 out of it with just tune, and Magnaflow cat back.

The Helix Power Tower is a great paper weight! Don't waste your money. I would suggest a USED handheld tuner such as the Hypertech, but I doubt you'd be able to find one for such a new truck. I have one and it works well, for what it is. I like it because I change my wheels in the winter from my 20's which measure 30.2 inches to my Escalade wheels which are like 28.5 inches, and I use it to calibrate my speedometer. It also knocked about a half of a second off of my ET, although some have a hard time believing it. I really like the handheld tuner that is offered by Crane Cams/VHP which allows all of the "normal" adjustments, plus the ability to raise the idle speed. It also has custom profiles for several different camshafts, which may come in handy down the road. I think you would be able to knock about a second off of your time with a tune or tuner, a cat-back exhaust, a cold air intake, electric fans, and a torque converter if you are up to it. I like the Magnaflow also, it is really well made, the muffler is polished stainless, the whole thing is stainless steel, and it cost about the same as a Flowmaster which offers none of these features. I have had good luck with my AEM intake. The torque converter really wakes these trucks up, especially the 4wd's where you can really leave against the converter. All of these things combined will really help, but you can still plan on getting beaten by Mustang GT's. Face it, these cars, although not rocketships, are performance cars that run real good, thus the reason everyone is always comparing their performance to "Mustangs". Without a power adder such as nitrous, a blower, or a turbo....I'm sorry to say you are **** out of luck....unless you want to spend big money and build a stroker motor. Warranty is out of the question. I understand that Magnacharger offers a warranty that you can buy extra for your entire powertrain...talk to BlownChevy about that. Welcome, and within' a few months you won't be as concerned about warranty!
