What are the differences between the 4L60 and 4L65.
How much power and ft lbs will they stand up to.
My buget is bout 6500.00

You would need a trans pro disassemble the 4L65E swap in an output shaft for a 2x4 if that is what it is going in. A pro can swap it in 30 min or less bench time.I gather you will be paying someone for the install. You can do a lot within your budget.New Lq9 & 4L65E take outs $3500.Buy a torque converter $500,headers $500,Cam and springs $400.That leaves some bucks for a tune and a few extras

No, I'm going to be doing all the work myself. As much as I can though. I am going to change the whole exhaust set up. I live in CA and need it smog legal. Who makes high flow cats? Mine are shot I think. They have 156,000 miles on'em. They look stock. Were to buy an x-pipe or what manufacturer? On the cam what I have researched is no bigger than 220/220 duration to still pass smog with a tune. Sorry for all the questions I just trying to get all the info I need to make this as smooth swap as possible and do it right the first time.
