Question $5000 budget build 08 5.3 ccsb What would u do?

ok guys i have a clean 08 ccsb with 200,000 miles and it just freaked out on me and i think i have a collapsed lifter that knocking so i tore the truck down. Lifters under the heads suck! Anyway i am trying to decide what to do about this problem. I want to go ahead and put a cam in but why do that to a motor with that many miles? So i am thinking about a motor possibly but am not sure if i should mess with the 5.3 or if i could possibly get a 6.2 slapped in it(doing the work myself of course) for a 5k budget. Anyway if you had my truck and 5 grand what would you do? any help would be great!! Thanx.

Drop a 6.2 and 6l80 with a cam and 4.10s. Then boost. I would if I could

i really like the idea of thr 6.2 liter. i could do a cam swap headers and a converter and tune and probably be around 425 at the rear wheels and that would be awesome for me.if any one has a line on a 6.2 around Baton Rouge La i sure could use somehelplocating one.
