Had a hard time finding info onthis so since I did the swap this weekend and it works figured I'd post up so..... Guy had an 07 yukon xl drop cylinder #7 and the 07-08 motors are pricey and still have the bad parts... 09 and up are more plentiful ...lower mileage etc. Picked up a 2011 lc9 5.3 with 10k miles for $2250 shipped complete. Pulled the non vvt cam and gear outta the 07, also had to swap over oil pressure sending unit... intake mani as vacuum fittings are different, drivers side valve cover and if you want to keep the engine level dummy sensor swap oil pans as the new ones dont have sender... if not just connect the 2 wires together.. now he has all the updated internals..better oil pump with awesome pressure etc for same price as higher mileage 07-08 motor.
just wanted to share the info... I also have a complete aluminum gen 4 5.3 with 799's to build since my LS6 cracked #6 cylinder and is useless..
