Default need help

alright i have been tire shopping again and thats always dangerous. Here is my first question. I have 245/70-17's at the moment and they are so skinny its sick SOOO i found a set of 285/60-17 toyo Proxies S/T tires that keep the exact same height but are obviously wider, like 9.64in to 11.22in so thats a whole lot more rubber on the ground. herein lies the conundrum. will this wide of a tire fit on my stock rim or should i just stick to a 265/65-17 Pirelli Scorpion ATR. i am just afraid that the 285/60-17 will rub and be to big for the rim and cause a

Thanks for the help

I can tell you this, I have the Toyo Proxes on my factory Escalade wheels but they are 275/60-17's, and they are prob. the best tires I've ever owned. They even did great in the snow, which amazed the fug'outa me! Here is a pic with them on my truck. Maybe ask Trever1t, he has the 285/60's on his truck, but I'm not sure of his rim width.

Hey ZZebes, I run the 285/60 Toyo Proxys on 8.5" Welds. It is not recommended to run them on less than 8" but i think it can be done. Stockers are 7.5" right?

I really like the tires. They ride very quiet, handle well and get shticky when ya spin em up!
I rub just so slightly in the front when I turn hard over but only on the inner wheel well plastic. My front was dropped like 3.5" too.
