Default Yank TT3000 strong enough?

Will a Yank TT3000 be strong enough behind an NA cam and heads LQ9?

get a real converter bud. tt is nothing more than a worked over tb stall.

the stage 1 billet from circle d would be a great choice for your setup imo

IDK where you heard that from....

anyways. Just about any converter will work for you if you plan on staying N/A with no spray.

I really wouldn't worry about going towards triple disc and stuff unless you plan on being over 450rwhp

From Chris at circle D.

Also, triple disk has it's advantages, even in lower power apps.....such as still being able to use the truck to tow and whatnot. To me it's a no brainer given that it's only $200 more.

Was he trying to sell you a converter?

Circle D (or PI one) offer a workover for the TB converters btw.

I bought one, got it, but then changed my mind.

I'm pretty sure Chris re-works many Yank and PI stalls so he has a very good idea of what his competitors are doing. His reputation as far as I know is impeccable. I'm almost 100% certain I'll be going CircleD for my converter needs.

Chris is a very good guy, but I can't see how Yanks truck converters (TT series) are nothing more than a worked over TB stall. I thought Yank used billet parts in all their converters just like PI and Circle-D?

The TT series isn't billet.

According to the circle D website this is what they do to the TB stall:

Hand Tig Welded

High Carbon Lock-Up Clutch

HD Torrington Needle Bearings

Stalls from 2800-3200

According to chris this converter gains .2 in the 1/4th which is why I changed my mind on it. I don't see the point of putting a converter in if it will give minimal gains whereas one like yours will gain like .8
