Default Yank TT3000 or Pacesetter LTs/ORY

hey everyone. i'm looking to do one more mod to my truck then call it a year as far as spending money on it. i currently have an AEM intake, a cat-back exhaust and a Wester's tune. i was planning on doing pacesetter long tubes and the off road y pipe, but then i started reading about torque converters and they sound like a very good mod. if you had my current mods and had to pick either the headers or the converter, what would you pick? my tranny is bone stock. if i were to get the TC would i need to add anything to beef it up a bit? shift kit maybe? oh and i have a 2004 RCSB 5.3L 4x4 and it's my daily driver. thanks in advance for any input.

i would go with the headers, you could do without the converter for a while until you are planning on a cam or something

In a heavy 4wd truck you need more power out of the hole. While the ocnverter doesnt give you more power it puts you into your powerband quicker. A converter made teh biggest difference in my truck besides getting a tune. All lt headers with an ORY will do is cut the nuts out form under your truck down low with a stock tune and close to stock hp. Once you have a converter then get headers that way you wont notice the little bit you lost down low

With that said get a custom tune first then stall then lt headers. Thats the way I would do it if I started all over again.

i have a custom tune already.

eventually i plan on getting a cam, stall, headers, e-fans, etc. but i want to do either the stall or headers now.

would a shift kit in combination with the stall be a good idea? also i've been reading and it looks like the TT3000 is very streetable. will it work well when i get a cam in the future?

will my stock tranny be fine with the converter swap?

you will need to get a bigger transmission cooler with the converter because they will generate alot of heat, a shift kit would be good too cuz the converters usually soften up your shifts some. the shift kit will also make your trans perform better and last longer
