Default will slicks on 16's work w/ 20's in front?

I have some heavy *** 20's on my truck for pimpin around la casa, but I still got my stock 16's in the storage. If I mounted some slicks or drag radials on them, would I still see good gains at the track and on the street? I have 17+ spindles on the front, so that's why I can't put 16's all around. There's a couple guys around my town with some pretty fast rides, but I don't think I stand a chance (on the street) with my 20's on. I'm selling my 18's since I couldn't find the right sized tires I wanted for them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Later.

315/35/R17s
or
335/30/R18s

both are nitto nt555r drag radials and they hook pretty good plus 17s or 18s will be lighter and therefore faster anyways

i race on 16/15 setup and cruise on 20s. probably what you should consider. you need to choose what your goal is cruise or race

anytime you add big wheels you will slow your ride down no matter if its just on front o all 4

So do you think I'd be better off with 18's with KDW2's all around or some caddy 17's with street tires in front and M&H drag radials in back? My goal is to be able to sport 20's for cruising like you said and use something lighter for racing. By the way, Quick, thats a slick truck you got there. Is it a killer on the street too?

Isnt there a way to MOD the spindle to work with 16" wheels?
Ive heard of people doing a mod like this but i believe it was with the mcgaughys spindles.

That would work out nice if I could do that, but I've never heard of it. I'll search and see what I find. Thanks.

it will work but it sure will look funny with 20 in front and 16's in the rear, if its for track use only thats what alot of people do. good luck. they make a drag radial for 18" rims that are street legal.

That's what I was hoping to hear v8. I'm tryin to get my truck fast enough to beat a 1959? single cab with a hopped up 454. From what I've heard, he runs 10's(who know's)....but on the street, it'll be a different story. So I'm thinkin if I can launch and hook off the line, I'll have a good chance. Thanks fellas.

For track use 16"s with slicks in the rear and 20's up front work just fine.
