Default Will my stock tranny hold???

I have a stock '04 VHO....for now. I planning on getting an STS w/ : GT-67, 44lbs injectors, 255 walboro, I/C, nelson tune and meth. injection. Planning on running 8-9 lbs of boost normally. I was wanting to know if my stock tranny will hold up or do I need to upgrade it or to the 80e or FLP 5??? I was talking to a guy at a local (service manager) GMC dealer and he told me that if I blew out my tranny while under warranty I could get a 80e replacement instead of the 60e with only a little cash out of my pocket. Would it be worth it? Or could I just upgrade my current tranny with a transgo, bigger tranny cooler, and billet servos and be fine?

Also how will a Yank or Vig 3000 stall affect my tranny?

Any info. will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Caylon

I vote for no. Just my .02. When it comes to making power you better upgrade the tranny. Just remember that GM doesnt build them to last forever. If they did they wouldnt make any money. So in other words they build them to break. IMO

I'd say it won't last long. It's not that GM builds them to break. They build them just good enough for the factory hp plus a little more. Boost is not a little more

So.....just upgrade my 60e (transgo, billet servos, etc) or push my tranny, take it in under warranty and "get" an 80e tranny????

dont forget about the gearing in the 4L80 though. Its diffrent from the 60 and you will need hella power to benifit from it. The 80 is quite a hog down low, but I hear good things out of FLP's trannys. I just went to their site today and the level 4, 60e is rated at 550hp, and read something about 750 for the level 5 65e.

You boost that thing and break the tranny and take it in for warranty and they see the turbo they will tell you to "pound sand"!

I would get a 4l80e. If you are going to just do those mods and stay in that power range (450rwhp-55rwhp) when I would get a built 4l65e. better gear ratio and less power will be lost. just my .02
