Default What tranny would you reccomend?

Hi, I am going to be building a 383ci vortec engine for my 96. It will be running 8.5:1 compression ratio and being boosted, although I am not totally sure how yet. It will have e-tec 200's and the gmpp ramjet intake manifold kit. I would be running 8-10 pounds of boost with this engine.

Thanks

Fully built 4L60E unless you can get your hands on a 6L80/90E.

Everyday driver or weekend warrior? Put a 4l60e in it if you like buying and swapping transmissions everytime you change the oil. Just ask me how I know. I'm trying out a TH350 this time around and if it doesn't hold, going for the big boy 400. Of course, mine only gets driven about once a month(usually due to trans problems though)

A well built 4L60 and you'll be fine... Just spend the money on a well built one the first time and you'll be happy...

Myn works just fine. I daily drive it 60 miles a day, and dog the **** out of it at the track with sticky 12.5 wide slicks.. Works just fine with no problems.. But I built it myself and did it right.

A 6L80/90E is going to be tough to get to operate behind a Vortec for a while I think.
