Default What size driveshaft?

Ok so I’ve been cleaning up a 14 bolt semi float to put in my 09 Silverado. Also going from the 4l60 to the 6l80 got the new trans and all the parts just need the time off work. I figure while I’m at it I’ll upgrade the drive shaft instead of paying to shorten the stock one. Which brings me to the issue of I don’t know what length to get a custom one made to. I managed to find a vin for a 2012 Silverado with the 14 bolt and the 6l80 but looking on Gm parts direct it looks like all the 6l80 4x4 trucks have the same drive shaft? Can that be right? Seems like some of the 6l80s would’ve had the 10 bolt rears too and would need a longer shaft. Any advice appreciated!

call any driveshaft maker and tell them hp/tq, length and RPMs it'll turn. They have a chart that will tell you the harmonics and length/width/material it needs to be.

That’s the thing I don’t know the length since I’m swapping transmissions and rear axles

Look on Driveshaft Specialist of Texas website, M1 Measure sheets for 1 pc driveshafts. How to measure 1 piece drive shafts, or give them a call, plenty of drive line info on their website. I have had several driveshafts made by them, they do great work and have first class customer service.
