Im trying to figure out if the 9.5 hybrid 14bolt axle shaft (from an 06 SS), uses the same axle shaft as the stock 10 bolt out of my truck (06 1500 Silverado). I am pretty sure when we swapped the rear end I used the shafts from my 10 bolt. Well one is bent and have a vibration. I need a new one. I need to know if an aftermarket 10 bolt shaft with work on my 14 bolt?
I work in parts at a GM dealer, and they have different part numbers, but everything I can find says they have the same bearing size, same length, same splines, etc. I am not having luck finding any aftermarket 14 bolt shafts for the NBS trucks and I am not spending 500$ on a stock GM axle shaft.
Thanks for any help. I need to get this ordered asap.

No.
30 Spline 10 bolt 8.625 Vs. 33 Spline 14 bolt 9.5\
AXN 14 bolt 9.5 uses the same axle bearings and seals as a 10 bolt though. That's what makes it a hybrid. Or in this case a Bastard Child.

BTW, Although they pissed me off in my dealings with them... Dutchmen Axles will build you a set for nearly 1/2 the price of a GM axle.
IIRC it was about $280 for a set.
I sent them a GM axle shaft from an 06 SS for a template. I had 2 set's made. 1 for me and 1 for Bill Reid.
They also make the shafts for the TBSS unit's as well.
Bill Is running his in his turbo truck while mine is collecting dust.
