What is the difference between 4l80e-hd2 and the 4l80e-performance shift kit?
What is the difference between 4l80e-hd2 and the 4l80e-performance shift kit from Transgo? I have done a few searches and I have not found what I am looking for. I believe the one in my 80e that is in the truck is the performance shift kit. I notice a lot of people are running the hd2 kits and wanted to know the difference. One site that I found the hd2 kit on says it is meant for install when rebuilding. My concern is having full control of the shifts IE being able to hold 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as long as I want. Which kit is the better choice? I notice on one post Vince stated the new hd2 kits come with a separator plate so you do not have to install the plugs; do both kits come with this? Just to clear up any confusion I bought a 2nd 4l80e that will be going in the truck and the one that is in there may go bye bye. Any help would be appreciated

Best bet is to call Vince... with a few questions he can probably identify your transmission vintage before you start ordering any parts.
Full Control of shifting I believe was an option in the HD2 kits... but I am not sure if the newly updated HD2 kits come with that option. Again, thats where Vince comes in
