Default what could this be, trans noise in reverse

After the trucks been sitting for a while, when you put it in reverse it makes a shuddering noise, will do it in neutral as well. If you shut it off it'll make the noise for a second or two, seems to do it after the trucks been sitting more than 20 minutes. It will go away in drive or become really faint, after you drive it, seems fine and no noise. Trans shifts fine, on the highway it will automaticaly down shift when you take your foot out. feels kinda annoying. I'm going to warranty it in the morning, just want to know what to expect. Its a 4.3 auto

ive seen once where the sun shell made some noise before it went out. Also seen where the rear gears in the tranny break teeth off and they get noisy in reverse or while the truck is pulluing a load.

No problem, might wanna drop the pan and inspect for metal if the dealer wont do anything. Then tell them what you found.
