so I got some 6� pinion shims and they came with longer bolts but I don't think I have them installed correctly because it doesn't give me any more lenth to locate my axle with the leafs...

 

think I figured it out, I'll need to trim off the bolt and maybe some of the nut and then it gets flipped around so the nut is down in the spring perch hole

 

Are you sure the angle is the cause of your problems? I see you have Belltech and the proper pinion angle should be built into the flip kit. 6 degrees of shim is a lot.

 

It should have came with a spacer to move the pin down.

Unless I'm missing something, he doesn't have a flip kit. And I don't think Belltech flips compensate for pinion angle either.

I will agree that a 6* shim does seem a bit much assuming you're still at your old setup of 3/4 drop.


Do you have a 2pc or 1pc driveshaft?

 

2 piece I moved my carrier bearing up 2"

when I measured my front yoke was 0� level and my rear yoke on the diff was pointing up 8�

 

I didn't need to do my carrier on my 99 when I did a 2/4(spring, hanger and shackle)
I did have to use a 2deg shim though.

 

I saw the C-notch's and assumed flip. Obviously the axle is below the springs in the pic.

And Belltech flips have the proper pinion angle built into it. At least the NBS like mine. Can't comment on NNBS.
