Default What 4L60E do I have?

I bought a 4L60E really cheap from a wrecked full-size van.
The van was not present, so I'm not sure what year. How
can I find out more about the tranny?

Some of the tranny markings... 4L60E M30 24204457

It appears to be a 2-piece bellhousing. The bolts to remove
it are accessed from "inside" and not from "outside". FWIW.

I don't think the bellhousing is the exact same as my 4.8 V8.
Is this a Vortec-based 4L60E? If so, can it still work behind
my 4.8 engine? Can I just swap the bellhousing with an LS1
based unit and, if so, will the 4.8/5.3 wiring still work okay?

That figures. I'm not going to drop the coin to convert it.
Actually, I think I might've found a 5-speed anyways while
I was researching the 4L60E... now that's dumb luck.

I was going with a 4L60E since the T56s were pricey and I
could never find a 5-speed forsale when I was looking...

Thanks for the help!

spoken truth. Ask me how I know.

Take a look at the input shaft (left)... that'll fit to TCs for Vortech vehicles. The input shaft on the right will fit in TCs for LS-based vehicles with the 4.8/5.3/6.0. See the difference b/t the tips of those shafts? The pumps are different. The drums are interchangeable, so you do not need to press the shaft out of the housing. There's a sponsor (--->) that sells those in a 298mm & 300mm input drum assembly.
