FLT: I was wondering if you was coming out with a 700R4 tranny or a 700R4/4L60E with a lower first gear like a 2.75 like the 4L80E option you offer? Just curious because I would be interested in that for sure when I need a new one.

Sound like you need a 200r4, like the trans out of the Turbo Buicks, they have a 2.74.

Aww here are the 200r4's ratios, look at that yummy OD ratio,
1st 2.74 2nd 1.57 3rd 1.00 OD 0.67

Welcome to the site FLP, I will be getting in touch with you for sure.

me and Chuck go back a few years to my 99 ext cab where he built me a stout 4l60e. that tranny took my 5400lb truck into the 11's at the track and closer to mid 11's on the street. Chuck will be the first to tell you a built 4l60e has it's limits but for many around here it is the way to go.

now on my curent truck i am pushing 1000+(1100+ on one pass ) thru his 4l80e and it has been awsume. i did break the stock input shaft after upgrading to the big turbo and trying to shift it with the converter locked up but he now has a billet shaft avaliable. this tranny has seen 5000+ hard miles and 100+ passes, 30+ passes at the 1000hp level.

chuck is a real hotroder. he wants you to make your truck fast. he wants you to find the new weak link in his trannys so he can make them stronger. his customer service is GREAT and he stands behind what he sells like no shop i have ever seen.

they also have a brand new shop and a new web site that is still being updated, check it out >> http://www.finishlinetrans.com/.

here are some pic's of his shop that kyle took on drag week >> http://www.1320video.com/gallery/dwsaturday

welcome Chuck!!
Great photo's! I gotta love a guy that takes multiple photo's of gears, trans testing equipment and dogs.

Yea but you have to really beef up a 200R4 for it to last and they usually cost around $2500 and for that much money and I would rather convert to a T56 then go that route. I think a 700R4 with a 2.75-1st, 1.84-2nd, 1:1-3rd, and .70-4th would dominate the stock 3.06-1st. Mainly b/c you run out of gear on 1st gear at 30-40 mph depending on shift point and the 2000+rpm drop between 1-2. So, just curious if he was going to do something like that.
