well i got the truck stuck the other night and the breather line isnt hooked up like it should be the tranny has 280k on it and now its starting to shift weird and everything. i no i need to change the screen and fluid but with that many miles will it kill the 60e?

 

You'll kill it faster by leaving water in it.

 

Water + automatic trans = death of transmission.

It happens pretty quickly....

 

change it asap and pray....

 

If you t tech it right away you might save it but the water attacks all paper materials very quick so the damage is probably already done.

 

Pull it, go thru it and save the time and headache of jacking with trying to save it.... I've recently been thru a similar scenario.

no, it turned out to be fine thankfully. I T Tech'd mine after the stock line came unclipped on me and she's been going strong ever since... I'm getting all my parts together to bypass my radiator and add one of my cooler and line kits to it. Those stock coolers in the radiator dont like added line pressure...

In my first post I was referring to the 80E we just did for the suburban that got filled with water. If the water has been in it long enough to make it shift bad, its been in there long enough to soak clutches and ruin them. Thats why I told the guy just to warm up the tools and get it outta there

 

Thats right I forgot about that 80e I hooked you up with some info on! Yeah I would have to agree the damage is probably already done. The valve body gaskets really hate water.

 

lol you guys were right tranny took a crap tonight on me on my way home from work threw a p1810 code any idea what that is?
