Default vette servo

So I just finished installing my new headers and vette servo. Took it out for a test drive and lost my gears. Found out the c ring was not seated and blew out. I lost a ton of fluid and now I am waiting to get new fluid to try to build line pressure I hope. Cross my fingers as I sit on the side of the road waiting.

well i put fluid in and got it running again and started to drive and gunned it and it popped out again. Could I have to much line pressure or just a bad servo? Either way i am installing the factory one back tomorrow.

I have no idea why this is happening. Any ideas would be great?

Doubt u have to much line pressure because mine is cranked all the way up. Take it back apart and clean everything and re install. Leave it up on the stands and let it go through the gears a bit. What I also Did during the instal is spin every part after I installed it in the trans to help seat it. Even the final servo cover. Grab it with a channel locks and twist it back and forth a couple times and make sure the lock ring is fully seated. Good luck and let us know what happens

Ps why the hell would u gun it after just blowing it out on the road???

First road test. I was only a half a mile from home and had someone folling. Anyway. Got the old servo back in. Found some gouges and one of the seals had blown out. So I'm going to order a complete kit except cover and see if that resolves Anything. Have a dyno scheduled next week so I need to make sure its working. Thank you for your help.

Have to make doubly sure the snap ring is FULLY seated. Follow it around with your finger, you should be able to feel if it isn't fully seated. Done a couple of these and the snap ring can be a real b to get on.

Went to the tranny shop and they gave all new gaskets/ seals and new vette servo free. Will install tonight.

Good deal!

Make sure you don't pinch one of those o-rings. Give them a coat of trans fluid before you install them so they aren't dry (less chance of sticking and getting pinched).

Double check how the old servo came out to make sure everything is in the right order and facing the right way. I remember one guy saying his trans wouldn't go into 4th, turns out he had flipped over one of the parts during install

You can crack the case by doing this. Be carefull folks.

Improper servo install can:
1) Crack transmission case
2) Burn the band
3) Cause fires
4) Break seals

If you guys feel that the Corvette servo is a bit too harsh at WOT. GM made up a slightly softer servo that is used on the GMT900 PPV Tahoes. Its firmer than the truck servos, but less harsh than teh Vette servo.

here are the p/n's 24230441 piston & 24229157 divider/housing

Writeup on the 4 differnt sizes.
