Cool Update: 2 PC DS CONVERSION, PICS INSIDE

SO I FINALLY GOT THE 2 PC DS IN, HERE ARE A FEW PICS OF MY CROSS MEMBER I MADE FOR THE MID-SHAFT BEARING:







WHAT CAME OUT:






PARTS I USED, I DIDNT USE THE CROSSMEMBER, BEFORE I CLEANED THEM UP:

I wish I knew how to weld. I would be making all sorts of crazy **** by now

For example, I need to get the transmission crossmember mounts on the chassis boxed in and new brackets welded up, a roll bar, seat brackets, driveshaft safety loop, and some more things that I'd like to mess with. Guess Im just gonna have to pay to get all that stuff done

Find someone with a MIG welder that will let you practice, after a few hours you'll have it down. Granted there is more to it than that, it has to be strong first and look good second.

i was doing some searching last nite after this. found that the best bang for the buck is the millermatics. i think im gonna buy that 140 mig welder so i can practice with. found them on ebay for like $600-700 new

Hey so you had a one piece DS made or is it still a 2pc?

it was originally a one pc, i took a two pc from a ecsb 2wd and made it work. Got rid of all the high speed vibrations and the extra noise from my 4.10 gears

I'm curious why you didn't use the existing cross member for the center bearing support?
