u joint help
#1
im in the process of swapping a 6.0/80e in my 01 long bed 4x4 silverado... i believe i have everything figured out except the rear u joint.. i have a 2500 rear driveshaft that i need to use because its shorter to make up for the longer tranny....anywho my problem is the rear u joint by the rear end. the 2500 driveshaft has a little bigger u joint than that 1500 rear end mounting thing... i was wondering if theres a way to make one u joint out of two to get what i need , or if i could get the piece that connects to the rear end so i could just use a 2500 u joint but i would imagine it has a more splines or is to big.. any advice

I don't think a 2500HD yoke is the same spline but I am not sure.
If it came from a gas 2500HD its probably a 10.5 Full Floating rear end.
I wouldn't mess with it especially if you don't have the experience. Just get the correct U joint. They make several different ones with the right size caps for your swap.
If the parts store doesn't know call a drive shaft shop if you have a local one.
