4L60e Rebuild or FLT?
#1
So, my 4l60e just decided to quit and blew out all the forward gears, reverse still works so I had fun backing out of the middle of the street. But I'm caught between having someone professionally build it or buying a FLT Level 3 possibly level 4. If I have the one in it built I would either take it to a local guy that I have friends who have used him, or OK Transmissions in Tulsa, OK. (Gotta have a price quoted by OK Transmissions first.) I work full time for only $13 an hour so I dont quite have the money to shell out for a 1000+rwhp reliable built tranny or FLT's level 7, but I still want one that I dont have to worry about.
Basically, I'm asking what are opinions on FLT's? Has anyone used OK Transmissions in Tulsa, OK? and What are some opinions on what would be the best route to take. I've never had to deal with replacing my transmission up until now so no experience with what is best. Also, what's everyones opinon on PerformaBuilt Transmissions, compared to FLT which is better?
Thanks in advance and any input is welcome and appreciated.

Pacesetter LTs, ORY with cat delete, full exhaust, TR220 220/220 .558/.558 112LSA. Dyno Tuned. I had put a vette servo in the tranny, apparently didnt help it much toward lasting longer.
And on how I treat it. Not sure what kinda answer your looking for. But I mean you could say I kinda baby it. I mean, I let it warm up completely before driving anywhere. Change the oil every 3000 miles. Always checking fluids. Always put ethanol free 91 octane in it. Always try to keep it clean too. I mean I get on it from time to time, but never when it's cold or anything. Beat a few people in it, but racing wise MAYBE 8 different times. I don't run the sh** out of it at all. Also, I dont really tow anything with it, most that gets towed is an normal open trailer with 3-4 quads on it maybe twice a year to Little Sahara, I don't think I've ever hauled anything heavier than that.

I have only 4 - 2 downshifted maybe 4 or 5 times ever in it.
I dont drift around corners on a regular basis either, usually only when there is snow on the ground or when it is raining.
It still has the original converter in it so I never saw a point in launching it until I have a stall worth launching it with.
And, I don't usually need to downshift when pulling a trailer because like I said it isn't a very heavy one, it weighs as much as the trailer + 3 to 4 quads and sometimes 1 dirtbike, and thats usually only about twice a year.
