Default Turbo 400 will it fit?

Will a turbo 400 fit on my 2000 chevy silverado its a 4x4 is there a difference between a 2wd and a 4wd tranny thanks guys

It'll fit, as it bolt to the engine, but you'll need a new transfer case or some type of adapter to mate to your existing TC. The 2wd and 4wd TH400's are different too.

The Th400 is shorter, here is some info, these guys are 2wd, but there is the info you need for the adapters, and gearing

I understand why you would want to swap, but do you drive much freeway, because your rpms will be pretty high cruising

What kind of power you plan to make, you do know that the 400 is only a 3 speed. A mild 4l80 will hold 650hp to the wheels no prob, not much to swap in compared to the 400, ohh it has OD

and lockup! you will be making a big step down to go to a 400. the 4l80E will do just as good with more gears and electronic advantages! not to mention you will change nearly everything trans related to make it work.

how is the TH400 stronger than the 4L80E?
you can get a stock 80E with a HD-2 shift kit... with the mods in your sig it will be plenty over kill.

A 4l80, is pretty much is a turbo 400 just with OD added, I believe they use the same gear sets and clutches sept for the OD
