Dirty 30 did it. I recently bought a KP components crossmember and had new "custom ghetto" crossmember mounts re-welded a little further to the back, about 2-3 inches or so. That way I didnt have to add a piece like before.

I used a flexplate off a 98 LS1 and a spacer from GM with an old school (new) non-LS1 TH400 torque converter.

I have a 98 flex plate, spacer, and flexplate (longer) bolts for sale by the way.
Then you just get an old school, non-LS1 torque converter (easy and cheap to find)

I recommend you unbolt the factory "black box" from the 4l60e and turn the inside hole to where the truck thinks its in neutral. Then just wrap it up in electrical tape and zip tie it to the side. If you do not plan to have a manual valve body, then you need to have a vacuum modulator on the tranny. There is a nipple on the truck intakes upper middle on the pass side. You can twist the top off (like one of those kool-aid drinks lol) and there u can run the vacuum hose. On my TH400 I put a speed sensor and gear off a 91 TH400M (from 454 SS), it has an electronic sensor and I used a plug from one of the head lights and wired it in to my old speed sensor plug (2 wires).

Hey tyler hows it been goin? Thats what im doin to 400 reverse full manual valve body and the spacer thing he's talkin about is that the snout on the convertor is to short and you have to weld it on the convertor to ride in the crank. What heads you goin with? I've almost got mine done!!!Rearends all together, trans is built and gonna put motor together tomorrow or thursday. I'm using the Victor Jr intake also that thing is pretty impressive and will be cool with a plate bolted ontop. I'm pretty excited hope yours comes together nicely .Whats the new DD? Sorry bout the book!!!
