Default Tuff Country Traction Bars

Curious if anyone has tried these...principle looks exactly the same caltrac or asassain bars but on top of the springs instead of the bottom at a third of the price...

Pretty sure for the non-flip kit guys you will hit the frame on the axle before this hits the top of the fender....not to say they arent ugly but it does give me an idea.

Why would you pass, tx?

i cant tell how the front side mounts, but i'm assuming it's a solid mount up front. sure it will prevent wrap but it just seems like it would bind if the front is mounted solid. while this kit only prevents wrap, the caltracs or assasin bars can prevent axle wrap AND redirect that energy towards the ground. mainly i just like the looks of it haha. it just doesnt seem like it would work on a drag application.

My buddy has a set on a lifted 98 ext cab z71. The threaded rod is super weak and his has broke already where it screws and is welded inside the tube and not even 500 miles on them. Def need to upgrade the threaded rod to grade 8 atleast. It def stopped the axle wrap issue he was having. As far as traction, his truck is a turd even with the 4.88 in the 14 bolt.

It is also mounted solid like tx said. It dies have 2 rubber bushings on each side. You have to drill thru the spring perch and it's 2 nuts that smash the rubber bushings against the perch On each side fwiw.

I have installed many of these. For what you are doing, look into something better. Your power will break them. Most people here use them for looks. Or to stop wrap. But then they break. And they hinder travel, which equals a rough ride.

I work at a 4x4 and accessories shop (think 4 wheel parts, but better). And tuff country is local to me, so we sell alot of their products. Some are nice and work well, others not so much. Just my $.02

I would pass on that design. It's gonna bind in a drag racing application.

Similar bars like this were all over the lightning boards. I believ they worked for low power levels but once power started being added they were completely useless.
