Only someone who has run both with the same setup could possibly answer that and since both are great units it's doubtful you're going to get a real answer.
I have the TT and it works great.

Some of the forced induction Avalanches have blown the Eatons; I don't know of any who have blown a Truetrac.

I love my EATON, never had an issue with it at all. Great piece for the price IMHO.

I have driven both. I have the Eaton in my 2003 Silverado (yes it's only a 4.8L, but it spins tires occasionally) and I drive "white1"'s 2000 Silverado (6.0L swap) on a regular basis.
I removed a Powertrax from my truck for the Eaton (locker to a LSD).

Now that you see my back ground here's my opinion:
The Eaton and the Tru-Trac are both transparent until one wheel slips. At that point they both seem to engage smoothly and reliably. I truely can't tell a difference between the two. I would go with which ever you can get a better deal on at that given time.

I love my Trutrac also, I don't really understand the Tq sensing mumbo jumbo and how it transfers more power to the wheel with more traction but I can tell ya it's pretty bad ***. For instance if I put one wheel in the grass and floor it she shifts the power to the tire dats on da road, won't even burn up da grass man....Power slides around corners are easy to control with the gas pedal. If both tires are on the road it burns equal lines....scope out my burn out video. This is just punch and geaux no brake...
Trutrac vs. stock 17's... http://media.putfile.com/Up-Rev-Tita...rtoit-truetrac

1 vote trutrac even though I have never used the eaton to really judge!!! I just don't see how you could ask for anything more....

Also... This trutrac has no clutches to wear out (all gears)....what about the eaton any clutches in that thing?
