So I think I'm gonna install mine tomorrow. How much fluid will I lose when I disconnect the stock one? I wouldn't think it would be much, maybe half a quart?

Just trying to figure out how much I need to buy before I tear into it.

I drained my cooler mostly and put in about a quart when I was done.

No - it is a 5/8 18 inverted flare, same as the cooler. Or if you need a stock replacement fitting: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...00&postcount=4

b4vwannabe, how much fluid you'll lose when u disconnect the stock cooler isn't a whole lot. 1 way to minimize it is use some plugs & have the hoses up in air, rather than hangin down just dangling there oozing tranny fluid all over. My .02. Sure u won't get every drop, but it helps.

Corey, 1/4 pipe is only on tranny. No where else. SnakeOiler gave the rest of details.

Looks awesome Atomic. Did you bypass the radiator? Also looks like you mounted it below the radiator, behind the bumper.

Yea, I bypassed the rad. My heat exchange is too big to put the trans cooler.in front of or behind it so I had to put it behind the bumper

Does it matter if the cooler is mounted so that the lines come in from the top instead of the bottom? I suspect I will have the same problem as you trying to use the trucool and larger HX.
