Default troubles after cranking up torsion bars

I have a 06 club cab 4x4 that has 285s on it and the torsion bars cranked up to clear. Ive heard that the ball joints will wear prematurely like this and its just a matter of time. As few as 5000 miles before they will be shot. How many have done this and how much trouble have you had with steering componants and how many miles have you gone with your truck with them cranked up. Thanks

now i dunno where you heard the 5000 miles bs from that is not true at all... the torsion bars are ADJUSTABLE, which means you have the ability to go up and down with them, ive had mine bottomed out as much as the bolts will go up for about 40,000 miles and ive NEVER had this problem. dont worry about it, word of advice though dont put the ford torsion keys on... ive heard good adn bad about em not to say they dont work for some ppl but ive had problems wit them on my blue truck personally

You should have the truck aligned though after messin with the ride height...you'll be surprised how much difference a small tweak in ride height will affect steering geometry.

I've had mine cranked about 1.5" for over three years and about 95K miles and I'm still running everything stock in the front except tie rod ends.

Get it aligned after you get the T-bars adjusted to where you want the ride hidth to be at.
