Default Transmission Questions??

I going to do the 6.0 swap in my 99 Sierra and I need to change my tranny cause it is shot! Will a AWD tranny fit? I know something will have to be changed but what? I'm looking to buy one by next weekend but I want to get one that is not a pain in the *** to make it work. As I'm told the AWD tranny is a 4L65E and that is what I want.

Thanks for the help
Danny

I think the output sides are different as a 4L65E from a 4wd/AWD mates up to a transfer case. I wish the best luck with a a 4L60/65/70E.

Be sure to invest in at least a heavily built one to go behind a 6.0. I have went through 4 of them, and people toast them all the time.

I know that is what I don't want to happen. I wonder what a 4L80E swap will run me?
