Tractor Transmission fluid handles heat better, for a street vehicle I would just use Dex but thats IMO. I believe the lighter of the two viscosities is the better option.

I know its assuming stock, but i still prefer to run the suggested fluid in the trans for simple fact ive had too many issues running say a dex 3 in place of 6... the dex 6 being synthetic, doesnt break down as fast and has better detergents and friction modifiers, if you have a performance built trans chances are its going to be the same basic material as a stock unit on inside of it, with upgrades to the line pressure etc, run the dexron vi youll be fine...or ask whiever built uhat you should run in it...
