Default Silverado slower after stall converter?

I've got an 04 silverado and I just had to put a new motor in it so I figured I'd throw a converter in it while I had it out. I built the motor myself and everything there is good. Bone stock 5.3 stock cam everything. The only things changed were new rings and gaskets. And before with the stock converter I'd put 6-8 lengths on a buddy of mines car. And now with the fuddle 3600 converter I put a half a length on him. Could it be the converted bad itself? Or that the stock cam isnt enough for a 3600? Any help would be greatly apprecisted as its really pi**ing me off.

could be a crappy converter or its too much and not enough motor. 3600 seems pretty loose for an otherwise stock combo.

TUNE!!! I just put a Pheonix 2,600 in the 4L80E in my Express van. Stalls 2,750 behind my 350. My setup started running so lean it was bogging and even popped back into the intake when I jumped on it from idle. Fixed the tune and it runs MUCH better than before. They were all slightly negative before the converter.

Look at a dyno chart...youll see any LS motor can benefit from a 4000 even stock

A 3600 is hardly large for a LS motor

Fuddle is junk

Youre gonna want to tune for stall

And could be you are off on motor build

Yea you need a tune... there are driveline safety mechanisms in the tune that will make it a total slug when it detects too much slip. It is holding itself back.

^^^^ Then also throw in the fact the engine is under less load in the lower-midrange than it was. I was able to bring in the timing advance curve sooner in PE and had to compensate for the lean out I saw.

What parameters are you taking about that need to be changed? I'll be doing a high stall converter soon and was looking for direction of where to look in hptuners.
