Default Transmission being built, got a few questions

Hey there i have 2001 silverado with a 4.8. Has stock cam, long tube headers, cold air intake, true duals with hookers and x-pipe and egr removed, stock rear end. I recently took my transmission to get built and i ordered a circle d 3200 converter. The guy told me i was gonna hate the converter because my truck will be screamin just cruising and that it would have no power because my truck makes its power in the low end. However after reading i find both of these statements untrue so i went ahead and told him to install the converter, servos, and shift kit. Im wondering if its gonna be faster and if i need a tune????? Please help!

Time to take it to a different "guy" cause obviously he doesn't have a clue about these motors. You do not "need" a tune, but to make the most from your mods it's highly recommended.
