planning some stuff out and need some opinions. lookin to see what the best trans upgrade parts are, wanna rebuild it myself. keepin the 4L60E and 5.3 and lookin to push no more then 600/600 with this trans. thinkin 2600-2800 stall as well.

also wondering about 4x4 and what gears to run with that stall thinking 3.90s. planning true trac as well, and i suppose im buying two in order to make 4x4 work under any kind of power. where is the best place to buy richmond gears?

 

Anybody? Just looking to build this trans on my own time and dollar instead of paying someone, just dont know where to find hard parts for these things.

 

Contact Finish Line Trans. There's a link on the right, they should be able to help you out. Also there's a pretty good book by SA design I think that you can pick up at Amazon or your local book store might have it.

 

Be prepared to spend a serious chunk of $$$ on the 4L60E with 600/600. And then be prepared to spend it again in about 6 months.
























The cycle doesn't end, BTW. I'm on my 5th in a little over 2 years.

 

the 600/600 number is just a limit i set, i dont plan on trying to hit that anytime soon. ill be happy with around 500. fairly low stall, decided stayin 3.73s as well. I think if i can keep it running cool it will be fine. not gonna be a daily race to work and whatnot lol. gonna run a little bit shorter tire and a lot lighter wheel soon also.
