So I have a 1992 silverado that has a little work done to it and the 700r4 just doesn't hold up to the power! This is the 3rd time this trans has burnt up and I'm ready to just swap in a th-400, has anybody here have a '90s ss silverado or know what it would take to do this swap? Any advice would be great!!

 

Shouldn't be an issue to swap in a TH-400. I think the d/s is even the same. I think a T-56 swap would be even better and not nearly as hard as you think.
