Default Trans temp sender in pressure port?

Is there any residual fuild that will drain out when I pull the plug out of this port above the gear selector to install an autometer temp sender?

I don't recall any draining out.

it won't be gushing out unless of course you do something incredibly stupid like removing it with the engine running

Shouldnt be a problem. I did read in a rebuild manual though not to use tefelon tape. I used silicone to seal the threads.

SHITTTTT!! why couldnt i use tephlon? I did use tephlon. OOOOPPSSS! its been running for 15,000 miles with it and itll slip from time to time but then again i just hit 90,000 miles the other day

But to reiterate the answer. A tiny dribble will come out....nothing serious. You can dab it up with a paper towel.

TEPHLON I dont know. When I smoked my third or fourth tranny I got a manual and planned to rebuild it myself. In it it said if you use tefelon tape you WILL crack the case. I found it hard to believe, so I just used silicon. i think the tefelon paste is OK, but not the tape. Still doesnt make any sence to me.

Oh well shoot....I made 2 wraps with the thin stuff. No worries. I thought there was a chemical reaction with tranny fluid or something. Yay!... Oh wait. I want to pop the tranny.......hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Did not have anything seep out when I did mine, used brake cleaner and sprayed off the case, so that the silicone would seal good. Worked for me.
