trans prob

ight started off with stage 2 4l60 from performa tore it out about a month ago sent it back got them to go back through it .....they called me when it was sent back said converter failur was what caused it so i figured no big deal i live about 45 minutes from precision industries so i ran the converter down there let them do a cut an clean on the 3200 vig
heres wat i got now... went through all of performabuilts guide lines on startin and everything with the jack stand stuff everything went fine with that... in the process i put a set of long tube headers on so after trans got in i done some exhaust work started a few time checkin for leaks with no probs... backed out of shop to put my big wheels an tires on cuz truk wont fit in shop with them on in that process pulled backed up an forth a few times no probs..... gettin ready for test drive i reved up truck in park maybe to about 3 grand jus to see wat it sounded like with new exhuast..... didnt cut truck back off went to put in gear an now it has nothing let sit for awhile nothing...no drive revs or any gear motor wont even change and pitch when tryin to shift it. took batt cable off hopein maybe jus threw a code or somthin small but still nothin........

It sounds definitely like an issue fluid related. If the trans was full before you pulled it out of the garage, I would suspect that you have a broken pump. What was the failure of the first converter from PI? Did you properly check the converter spacing and make sure it was between 1/16-3/16ths of an inch? There is not any code that would cause the trans not to move. You could pull a cooker line to see if the pump is working properly. Give Frank a call so he can help you get through this. Vince

not sure who called me form performa but jus said some metal was found in the pump when they tore it down said i needed to get a new converter so i called vickie at pi she said run it down there she took care of me with it..... man idk about it i jus dont see it workin like that in the shop an jus all off a sudden stop like that i did double check the converter when puttin it in makein sure it fell all the way.....

What Vince is speaking of with converter spacing is not wether it was all the way in but rather could there be too much space between the converter and flexplate its should be with the converter pushed all the way back into the trans the distance measured between the converter pad and bolt area of the flex plate. If not when you rev the engine the flex plate actually move forward (flexes) if the clearance is to high it can disengage pump and detroy it leaving no fluid presure. Remove the line as mentioned and as i said when we spoke on the phone and start engine fluid should spray out quickly if not this is likley what has happened.
