Really?!? So if I do a 80e conversion, do it once on my back or get a house, garage, & a tranny jack. Plan on gettin use out of jack w/ option #2?

Your catching on...
Ive had bad luck with Torque Converters (PTC Sucks) and then breaking stuff..
Went with a stock 4l80E out of a 2004 2500hd, put a HD2 shift kit in it. Not looking back.

Gas mileage didnt change, actually its better in town. Went from a Yank 3000 stall to a huge stock coverter. The stocker is fairly loose. The 80E will eat up about 50hp, but its better than getting to know the underside of your truck.. Dont ask..
