Default which trans. to go with?

i currently have a 4.8 in my truck and i plan on swapping to a 6.0, but my transmission is ready to die now, so im going to go ahead and put a built one in it, but im going to have to run the 4.8 on it for awhile, whats your suggestions on a transmission to go with?

FLT. What are your future goals? Either ET or w/ respect to HP/TQ (@ the wheels) ?
Does it see a lot of track use or are u gonna run a sticky tire?

Do u plan on any FI? Either turbo, s/c, or n20?

A built FLT 60/65e could live (Trever1t has 20k+ miles on his FLT) or for no worries, go ***** out on a 4L80e coversion.

FLT hands down. I have been running mine for over 20K miles without issue. Customer service is top notch and quality speaks for itself. I would advise you purchase the highest level you can afford, you may not need it today but if you are like some of us you will be turning up the power little by little!

No, bolt on and go! You will be able to remove TM.

Good memory? Haha, since post #2 in this thread mentioned it, I was helping u to rid your brain of that info, & keep the other stuff...like particular details on installin a meth kit if needbe.

Lo&slo, what yr is your truck? TM can be tweaked as trever said. If u have a DBW TB, you'll have 3 strangleholds on the TQ Mgmt side of things. Thats if u have DBW, if cable TB, I believe it's only 2. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

It would really benefit you to get the tune set up properly with the new transmission. You can alter torque management settings and zero the shift times. Also make any necessary adjustments to the torque signal pressure so the shifts are not too harsh or too soft.

Or you could go with a Shift kit in a 80E... ... that's my vote..

but I just hate 60Es with a passion..
